Wardrobe Closet Features
Why are wardrobe closets making such a comeback? Well, the answer is simple, they are functional and add a touch of elegance or design to a room. In a time before closets, this is how clothing was stored. Of course, it was also a time when we didn’t have as much clothing. There are people with closets that are bigger than some apartments in New York City! Seriously, wardrobes make for very eclectic looking pieces as well. If you find an antique wardrobe, you’ll be amazed at how intricate the carving and design features truly are. These antiques were made of rich woods and give a nice handsome quality to a room.
These wardrobes are pieces of furniture that store clothing and sometimes are complemented with closet organizers for a tidier and neat arrangement. We use a chest of drawers or closet more of the time now, but as mentioned, there are just times when a wardrobe makes sense. If you have space ‘issues’ in a room, you can use a nice wardrobe to take care of it. The single wardrobe makes an extremely handy piece in a guest room, where the closet may be an area where you store all of your out-of-season clothes. Suddenly, you have company and you realize that there is no room in there for their stuff.
Some armoires can be used to store newer audio visual equipment as well. One place where a wardrobe closet is especially functional is in a room shared by siblings. Even if they both share the space, they don’t need to share the closet. Or, better yet, they can both have one half of the closet and then use the wardrobe for the other items of clothing.
More modern wardrobes can be found at places like Ikea or other home product retailers and stores online. They range in price depending on style, size and features. For a simple, single one, you might be looking at something in the $150 USD range. For one of those antique, carved wood armoires, think thousands. They just don’t make them that way anymore.
