Do You Need A Professional Closet Organizer?

Closet organizing is one dreaded task for many people young and old alike. Not that it is a task that is impossible to do but there are just many reasons for not being able to do it. For some people, it is a sizable chore to start with. There are also some who just would not want to stress themselves out when it comes to organizing their things in the closet. However though, with the busy life at work and the hectic demands that office work would bring day in and day out, some people just could not find the time nor energy to even get started with closet organization. But whatever the reasons, there are people who are willing to do it for you – for a fee, of course. This is where the professional closet organizers come in. They fill in the void created by those who do not want to do it themselves and by those who simply do not have enough time to do some organizing tasks for their closet.

Engaging the services of a professional closet organizer is akin to just outsourcing the job. Think of it like hiring a wedding planner or organizer wherein you just get to pay the bills and make the most important decisions with regards to the job and tasks to be accomplished. These professionals are highly skilled and can usually fathom what you want to be done and how you want it to be done. Hiring their services is one good way to evade the hassles of getting things organized. However though, one should be prepared to pay the cost of their services. They do not come cheap but the rewards could be exceptional and worth the cost.

Looking for a competent and reliable professional closet organizer is not a daunting task. With the advent of the internet, one could easily browse the web and search for the most promising ones. One good place to look for them is the website of the National Association Of Professional Organizers or NAPO. Sifting through the pages of the website can lead you to a good bunch of professionals and it would then be up to you whom you would want to get in contact with and then make your choices. Another good place to look for is the plain old local yellow pages. Keep in mind that many of these pros would charge by the hour. It may range from $60 per hour for up to a whooping $200 per hour. However, there are also some who may charge for the whole service package and it would just be up to you to decide and negotiate which way to go. Keep in mind that an expensive professional closet organizer does not necessarily mean quality.

Closet Organization For Winter And Summer Seasons

Closet organization is a chore which tends to adapt with the changes of the seasons. Unless you have got a very sizable closet that could fit all of your clothing and gears for every season, then you might not have a problem with your closet space. However, not everyone has this luxury of a closet. There are many household closets which are just average in size and could hold no more than a single season’s clothing and accessories especially with winter garments which tend to be very bulky.

Hence, here are some few closet organizing tips which might do the job in an easy manner:

1)    Prepare rigid boxes. In most cases, at least 3 average size boxes would suffice. These boxes will be used to put your out of season clothes into. Cardboard boxes will do fine only that they have to be placed on a dry place and away from moisture. These boxes can easily be purchased at any local hardware or even at department stores. To make things a bit easier, keep a marking pen handy for labeling the boxes.

2)    Sift through your clothes and gears inside the closet and choose which one you will use for the entire season. Do not be tempted to keep most of your favorite clothing only to realize at the end of the season that you have not worn them at all. Or you may find that you have wasted so much space on your closet organizer. Think of it just like going on a trip where you only take the clothes and gear you will need for the entire duration of your trip.

3)    Group the clothing you have chosen for the season. Group together those garments that need to be hanged and those that need to be put inside the closet drawers. One notable advantage of this is that it would be much easier to look for things when you need them.

4)    Group the out of season garments and clothing and nicely tuck them inside the boxes you have provided. Light clothing should be grouped together while heavy clothing such as fluffy winter jackets or coats should also be stashed together in the same box. Shoes can also be grouped together in a single box but it would be best to clean them first before putting them inside the boxes.

5)    It would be best to wrap the boxes with clear plastic in order to prevent bugs and insects from going inside the box as well as prevent moisture from getting into the box.

These tips may look too cumbersome for some people to execute. However, they might just be the tips that might matter when it comes to making your closet look very organized and uncluttered for every season of the year.
